County Wicklow Film Commission
County Wicklow, on the East Coast of Ireland has attracted filmmakers since the time of the black and whites. Thanks to it's close proximity to Dublin (under 30mins from Dublin Airport) and it's wide variety of different lcations County Wicklow is generally regarded as the Hollywood of Europe. Among it's long list of films shot in County Wicklow are King Arthur, Braveheart, Reign of Fire, Brooklyn, The Guard and many many more.
There are two major film studios in County Wicklow, Ardmore Studios and Ashford Studios, both of which are very close to the M11 motorway ensuring very easy access.
Ardmore Studios has recently housed productions such as Penny Dreadful for SKY and the History Channel series 'Vikings' was made in Ashford Studios and surrounding countryside.

The County Wicklow Film Commission was set up in 1992 and is the longest running film commission in Ireland.

Our main objective is to guarantee a film friendly County by assisting filmmakers with all the requirements filming on location brings.

We can help you, for example, to source production offices anywhere in the County. We can put you in touch with landowners or establish the relevant contacts within the local authorities to help you move street furniture. Let us organise your road closure or sort out parking requirements. Our extensive digital slide library can be accessed through the locations database.

Through years of experience we are confident we can assist you no matter how small or big your project.

Working in cooperation with Bord Scannan na hEireann (The Irish Film Board) the Film Office helps filmmakers to find locations, cast and crew, technical services and local service providers. The Film Office has extensive experience with visual production and we are more than happy to deal with your enquiry, however big or small the production is.

FilmOffaly
Situated in the heart of Ireland, Offaly boasts a unique landscape, with plenty of professional film experience in hosting feature & short film productions.

With good road & rail infrastructure, the north eastern part of the county is situated within the commuter belt of Dublin with the southern and western parts bordering the Slieve Bloom Mountains and the Shannon River.

The county boasts 22 monastic sites and approximately 90 castles. It has stunning panoramic views of peat land and wet lands, quaint old villages, period towns and modern urban settings.

We have professional crew resources, a catalogue of locations, direct links to local authorities and most of all a great enthusiasm for film.
