2024 BlueCat TV Writing Competition: CALL FOR ENTRIES

BlueCat has a long and distinguished history of discovering unknown TV writers, introducing them to the industry and launching their careers.

We have two categories: Hour Pilot and Half-Hour Pilot. 

Every pilot submitted will receive script analysis at no additional cost. After receiving feedback, all writers will be eligible to revise their scripts and resubmit.

Founded in 1998 by award-winning writer Gordy Hoffman, BlueCat has supported thousands of screenwriters through written analysis provided to all entrants, many of whom have gone on to successful careers in the film and television industry.

BlueCat's Alumni include:

Aaron Guzikowski (Verve/Madhouse) wrote PRISONERS, the remake of PAPILLON, and Ridley Scott's RAISED BY WOLVES.

Fergal Rock wrote DEPARTURES starring Nina Dobrev and Maisie Williams.

Ana Lily Amirpour (CAA), won Special Jury Prize at the 2016 Venice Film Festival for THE BAD BATCH, directed by Lyle Vincent (DREAMLAND) and starring Jason Momoa, Jim Carrey and Keanu Reeves. She will direct CLIFFHANGERS produced by Neal Mortiz.

Ashleigh Powell (Gersh/Good Fear Film), wrote THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS directed by Lasse Hallstrom and Joe Johnston. She’s currently writing THE ATHENA PROJECT for Warner Bros and THE PAPER MAGICIAN for Disney.

CALL 4 ENTRY – It Is Now Time To Apply For The 23rd Edition of The RIFF! feature films, documentary, short films, screenplay and subject are welcome!!! This year as well, filmmakers from all over the world will have the possibility to present their original works as a first-ever preview in the section “New Frontiers” dedicated to the first work of an artist. For the last 20 years, RIFF has collected and presented works coming from all over the world, giving particular attention to Italian productions.
The program of the RIFF 2024 will be enriched by retrospectives and seminars on different aspects of the Indie film industry. At the end of the Festival, the winners will be presented with RIFF Awards worth over 30.000 €.

For over a decade, Shore Scripts has been shining a light on new screenwriting talent. This year we are presenting a unique opportunity for feature writers to go behind the scenes and start developing their screenplay with the support of our award-winning Judges.

Showdown will be presented with a shortlist of the strongest screenplays for them to choose the winner.
