We are a team of artists who are passionate about film and passionate about nurturing, developing, and supporting the next generation of filmmakers and screenwriters from around the world.

Our mission is to forge a screenwriting competition that will launch the careers of cinema’s next generation of writers and filmmakers. Our team of industry professionals is passionate about developing artists.

We want our competition to be a bridge between up and coming artists and the talent agents and managers that will ultimately put them in front of studio executives in both Canada and the US. We are also passionate about introducing them to the various producers and production teams that call our city their home.

We love all kinds of scripts and stories from studio blockbusters to art house fare. No two paths are the same and no two stories are either. We accept scripts from all over the world not just the US and Canada and from artists of all shapes and sizes, colors and ethnicities, sexes and sexual orientations.

Our city has a long history of nurturing and showcasing the most talented filmmakers in the entertainment industry. We want to give screenwriters the same level of exposure. We want to develop writers to work on studio films as well as high end independents. We want to inspire, support, and develop writers at all levels to make great films that leave others touched, moved and inspired.

We love film and we love storytellers. And we want to do everything we can to support the arts, not only locally, but around the world. Our aim is to forge a screenwriting festival that will inspire generations of filmmakers to tell great stories in the US, Canada, and abroad.

Our aim is to open doors for aspiring writers and filmmakers in all genres.

Kairos Prize for Beginning Screenwriters - $15,000
Kairos Pro Prize for Established Screenwriters - $15,000

Established by MOVIEGUIDE® in 2005, the primary purpose of the KAIROS PRIZE is to further the influence of moral and spiritual values within the film and television industries. Seeking to promote a spiritually uplifting, redemptive worldview, the prize was founded to inspire first-time and beginning screenwriters to produce compelling, entertaining, spiritually uplifting scripts that result in a greater increase in either man’s love or understanding of God.

Since its inception in 2005, the Kairos Prize for Spiritually Uplifting Screenplays has given a voice to new and beginning screenwriters worldwide who endeavor to create stories that are compelling, entertaining and spiritually uplifting.

Since its inaugural year in 2006, the Kairos Prize has helped to open doors for its winners as they have gone on to sign with top agencies and have their scripts optioned and produced. The prize, now in its 14th season, has witnessed several winning scripts head into production. 2012 alone saw the completion of principal photography for 2 previous winners… both are set for release by year’s end. Coupled with the fact that another one is currently in the final stages of pre-production and 2 others are on the same path, the Kairos Prize is quickly becoming one of the most successful screenwriting competitions (faith-based or secular) with an exceedingly high winner to production ratio. The future of the Kairos Prize is bright as we continue in our efforts to bring scripts to Hollywood that result in a greater increase in either man’s love or understanding of God.

Discovering & Promoting Writers Since 1999

Our intention is to help open doors for the aspiring television writer. There are four categories you can submit to, which include one hour existing shows, ½ hour existing sitcom, original pilots, and reality shows.

The participants we have chosen to read the winning scripts are individuals from established production companies. Whether you are already an aspiring television writer or a writer interested in exploring other avenues, Scriptapalooza TV is here to promote careers in television and provide exposure for the undiscovered writer.

We are the world's most prestigious and fabulous screenwriting competition!!!

As one of the few screenwriting competitions for the LGBTQ community, our aim is to discover and recognize the best emerging talent and most original voices from our community in film and television writing from around the world. We are proud to be LGBTQ and even prouder to support the LGBTQ community. Members from our community have long been known for being the best artists in the world and we want to not only recognize them for that, but to support them in being talented as well as a member of our community. We go out of our way to find great new talent and place top new screenwriters firmly on the industry’s radar by designating them as finalists and winners in our competition based in the heart of the motion picture industry.
