We're excited to present the second edition of our IMDb-qualifying virtual film exhibition, scheduled from January 15 to 29, 2024. Offering a diverse range of genres, attendees will enjoy an immersive cinematic experience on the trusted Filmocracy
platform.

Beyond a Film Festival: Elevating Our Exhibition Experience
Heeding the feedback from our filmmaker community for the upcoming year, we've made substantial enhancements to our exhibition. Understanding the aspiration for more than just a traditional Film Festival, we've transformed our offering to meet and exceed those desires.

Key Highlights:

Safeguarding Your Work: With DRM technology at the helm, your film's security is our priority during the entire event.

IMDb Qualifying Event: This isn't just a title; it's an acknowledgment.

Oscar Dreams Brought to Life: Partnered with Filmocracy's elite theaters in LA, we have an exclusive pathway for our champions: A 7-day Oscar Qualifying Screening in the movie mecca of Los Angeles. Ready your film for an elevated legacy. However, while we provide the platform, the screening costs for this Oscar journey fall on the filmmakers. Details on our website.

Showcase Your Film Globally: We're hosted on Filmocracy, a renowned platform that has organized hundreds of film festivals globally. Like these festivals, we guarantee that our Official Selections receive the attention they deserve. With us, your film doesn't just play—it reaches a global audience. Share your story with us and let the world experience it.

Monetize Your Film on Leading Platforms: Winners will not only shine in the spotlight but also have the opportunity to monetize their film on Filmocracy. Additionally, showcase opportunities are available on The MTS Network, and potential placement on Hoopla, pending their review.

Broadening Your Reach: Unveil your narrative on platforms like Hoopla, which caters to 7 million patrons, attract Filmocracy's indie-film buffs, or gain in-depth feedback via The MTS Network.

Pitch from the Comfort of Your Home:
Skip the crowded exhibitions. While we handpick each film, even those not awarded have the potential to be wildcards, granting them an opportunity to pitch directly to both Filmocracy and The MTS Network. Transform your living room into a 4-minute pitch platform, emphasizing your narrative. In our virtual space, you can upload your poster and trailer, and immediately pitch to our distributor connections. We're also actively in discussions with other distributors, expanding opportunities even further.
Resources for Filmmakers: Our commitment goes beyond mere screenings. We provide invaluable live networking opportunities and host workshops designed to enhance your filmmaking journey.

A Look Back: The previous year's Global Film Exhibition stands as a beacon of filmic excellence. With 300 entries and a final curation of 84, it was a tapestry of diverse narratives.

Crimson Screen Horror Film Fest is South Carolina's first and largest horror film festival! The 2024 festival will take place over three days in Columbia, South Carolina and will feature some of the best independent horror films from all over the world. We will be screening all of our Official Selections at Spotlight Cinemas Capital 8.

Forget the Oscars! We have the "Crimmy's"! All Official Selections (films and screenplays) will be competing at a chance for a Crimmy in over 20 categories. Our Crimmy trophies are designed by "The Conjuring" and "Annabelle" special effects artist Tony Rosen, who also designed the famous "Annabelle" doll for both films. Each trophy is handmade and signed by Tony himself.

Sponsored in part by ShortsTV, the world's largest distributor of short films, all submitted and accepted short films have the chance for worldwide broadcast deals on their cable channel, ShortsTV, which plays Oscar winning short films all over the globe. Screenplay winners will also compete to win scriptwriting software from FinalDraft as well as free listings on InkTip, where producers go for scripts and writers. Producers have made more than 300 films from scripts and writers they found through InkTip.

In 2017 "Best of South Carolina" named Crimson Screen one of the top 10 festivals in South Carolina and in 2015 readers of HORROR SOCIETY voted us their 2nd favorite horror film festival in the USA! Festival attendees come out to walk the "dREaD Carpet" dressed in their favorite costumes and get to meet the filmmakers during our mixers and Q&A sessions after film screenings.

We are seeking all genres of films and screenplays that contain horror element such as sci-fi, fantasy, comedy, underground, experimental and more...as long as there are horror elements. We take pride in the variety of horror selections at our annual festival and encourage filmmakers to submit any type of film and screenplay with horror, thriller, and suspense elements and themes! If you are lucky enough to be chosen as an official selection, you definitely will want to attend! We are not like any other film festival out there! We provide our attending filmmakers with two free VIP passes, a bag of swag, a personal welcome letter with wax sealed envelope embedded with our logo, and lots of other goodies also!

Filmmakers and VIP pass holders also have access to mixers as well as discounts at various bars and restaurants during the fest. At past festivals we have held "Maverick Filmmaking" workshops by such filmmakers as Steve Balderson, lectures on H.P. Lovecraft by authors such as W. Scott Poole, and have also awarded our new annual "Horror Icon" award to Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) in 2016 and Joe Bob Briggs in 2017, Mark Patton (Nightmare on Elm Street 2) in 2018, and PJ Soles (Carrie, Halloween) in 2019!

Welcome to the "Slamdance of the South!"

The South Carolina Underground Film Festival, an IMDb qualifying festival, is a truly inclusive film festival celebrating all genres of independent film. Taking place in downtown Columbia, South Carolina, SCUFF is seeking films from all over the globe to program for our next festival. The SCUFF will be three packed days of indie films where fans and filmmakers can meet and mingle and celebrate obscure and independent film.

Our special guests such as filmmaker Mark Borchardt (American Movie) have come to SCUFF and shared inspiring stories with our attendees.

Besides promoting and showcasing the best in independent cinema from all around the globe, the SCUFF also promotes local filmmaking in SC. We will shine a special spotlight on SC produced films and filmmakers. Filmmakers will have an opportunity to have their works screened for a captive audience while competing for awards in many categories.

From the novice to the professional, from the student to the experimental filmmaker, from obscure to the mainstream, SCUFF is seeking all type of films that may not be able to play at other film festivals.

Drama, comedy, horror, sci-fi, action, animation, music videos, documentary, LGBT, and so on. If you can create it, we want to see it. The more obscure the better! If it’s not obscure...great. We like all types of films!

Do you have to ask yourself if your film is too much for our festival? If so then we definitely want to see it! Does your film push social boundaries? Would other festivals laugh at you thinking you had a chance to get into their festival? Then we want your movie!

Q&A’s will follow screenings with visiting filmmakers to give you a chance to connect with our audience. The festival will end on the third night with a big awards ceremony as we give out SCUFF awards! Follow us on Facebook and we continue to make announcements until the festival arrives! Good luck and we can’t wait to see what you made!

SCUFF wants to promote and nurture independent films and filmmakers. We want to expose to the world a whole new segment of cinema that they would never see anywhere else.
