Animation is a fantastic, creative medium capable of bringing a storyteller’s inner visual world to life and sharing it with audiences everywhere. As the capabilities of computer-generated imagery continue to increase, there are fewer and fewer limitations as to what can be created on the screen.

Anime means "animation" in Japanese. However, in English the word Anime is often used to describe the very distinct style of Japanese animation. In some ways, Anime can be used to explore the everyday lives and fears of young people more effectively than Western Animation.

Join us for the 3rd Annual Animation/Anime Short Fest and become part of a new tradition!

The Drunken Film Fest aims to remind us all that great art and a great time aren’t owned by big establishments and don’t have to happen in ‘art’ spaces. Down the years that is what Bradford has been brilliant at.

Get ready to get drunk on film and maybe enjoy a cheeky beverage whilst you do. Not a drinker? Not a problem! All events and venues will cater to those who prefer to sup on something non-alcoholic.

So come down, grab a drink, watch a movie, and have a good time.

** UP TO 10 WINNERS WILL GET $500 EACH! **

As filmmakers, we know that outside of the film festival circuit, most shorts will die a lonely death in the bowels of the interwebs. So to help amazing shorts get the audience they deserve, we’re creating "Grave Intentions: An Anthology of Chills, Thrills, and Kills."

And your film could be a part of it!

If your short would be at home on The Twilight Zone, Tales From the Crypt, The Outer Limits, or Creep Show, we want to see it. Basically, we’re looking for anything that broadly fits the horror genre, including suspense, thriller, fantasy, sci-fi, supernatural, etc.

Up to 10 films will win $500 each and be included in "Grave Intentions," a feature length anthology with a creepy hostess, which will be distributed worldwide.

In addition to the $500, we also plan to award the winning filmmakers bonuses at various profit milestones for the anthology.

So if you want the chance to win at least 500 bucks and have your film shared with audiences around the world, submit to us now!

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!

Since we’re screenwriters as well, we know how tough it is to get recognition for short screenplays, so we’re also hosting a contest to find great short scripts in this same horror-ish genre.

The winning screenplay will get $500, with the potential for Death Cat Entertainment to produce the script into a short film for the next volume of "Grave Intentions."

So if you have a script that will make us turn on all the lights and check under the bed, submit now for the chance to win 500 smackers and the possibility of seeing your script come to life!

Finally, when “Grave Intentions” is released in October of 2018, we’ll celebrate with a live screening event in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina!

"Grave Intentions" will be produced by Death Cat Entertainment, LLC. This organization is funded in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Quarantine Film Festival

Winners Notified:
Jul 7, 2018
“The Quarantine” is an international short film festival aimed at popularizing young and unknown authors up to 35 years. The festival takes place on the beach at “The Quarantine” fishing village which is the last standing fishing village in Varna, Bulgaria. The village is in danger of disappearing because a luxury residential complex is under construction on the coastline behind it. By provoking cultural exchange between contemporary artists from the whole world and locals, we intend to turn the fishing village into a culture and art zone and to preserve the fishermen’s way of life.
The name of the region “The Quarantine” comes from the past when sailors from commercial ships entering the harbor with suspicion of some kind of disease were taken ashore at the beach for the quarantine period of 40 days. In case they showed no signs of illness, they were allowed access to town. At present, the young authors who have still not found their realization are in the state of a “Quarantine” - isolated by professional filmmakers’ circles. In analogy to the history of the location, we decided to name the festival “The Quarantine”.

The Melbourne International Cinema Extravaganza M.I.C.E. aims to be one of Melbourne's leading cinema extravaganza, raising awareness and celebrating these wonderful totem animals- Mice.

It will attract filmmakers from all around the world and celebrate their brilliant creations. With a strong focus on all the millions of life saving mice who sacrifice their lives to the research and study of terminal illnesses/cancer world wide.

It is a unique platform for new talent and a celebration of cinematic creativity, innovation and extravagance with artists new creations being judged right here in Melbourne City.

Films with a focus on terminal illness will be welcomed to help, educate, raise awareness, and bring hope to all the sufferers and families.
Art, Music and Film is a dynamic, healing way to help sufferers and their families as well as entertain all those who come along to this wonderful celebration.

A celebration that will engage, entertain, enlighten and bring together local and International films and give recognition to these wonderful, remarkable, brave little animals with a big, corageous heart.

“I came up with this film festival idea whilst at my screening of my first film in my trilogy, FATE-It is what it is! This was at the 2013 New York City Independent Film Festival, in Time Square. New York is filled with masses of people running in all directions- like mice! Very similar to Mice in cages of scientific research and health trials. These humans were like mice, all going somewhere, doing something and 95% of them chasing their own creation and creativity. And almost 50% having suffered or been scared with terminal illness at some point in their lives. I came back to Melbourne city and saw the same thing. We are all mice and these amazing totem animals of this festival have such a significance to our lives. They are life-saving!
I want this festival to begin to bring awareness just to how lucky we are to have mice in our life and celebrate their existence in a Melbourne International Cinema Extravaganza- MICE.
It was the beginnings of creating brilliance. Don't wait – Create! And we shall do just that with all the amazing courage of all of us working as a team of creative little mice, exhibiting dynamic, wonderful, International films and in turn celebrate the life-saving mice!”
R Lobosco.
Creator/Director of MICE Festival.
One of the judges in the 2016 MICE festival.

Welcome to Critical Edge Film Festival, a national network of festivals projected toward college students!

We've partnered with the art students in Chicago, IL to help bring you Avant Edge Film Festival! Our aim is to bring your film, assuming that it is radical in ideology and breathtaking in cinematography, to the student masses in one of the most artistically-rich cities in the Midwest United States. Chicago houses a vast student art scene as well. Finding like-minded festivals in the area can provide excellent opportunity to filmmakers interested in targeting a younger demographic - our next generation of filmmakers and movie-watchers.

Critical Edge student-run film & art microfestivals feature a season of small film screenings where we play many of our short film selections alongside local/student filmmakers, followed by an annual Film Festival. A typical early screening event lasts an hour, and takes place at a local cafe, art gallery/studio space, or outdoors (depending on the venue). Our annual event will take place at multiple venues, run longer, and screen feature and short films - the annual event showcases the films selected as winners of their submission category (among other selections).

Like and share our page on Facebook, then send us a message to receive a free 10% off discount code to submit your film!
