Welcome to Critical Edge Film Festival, a national network of festivals projected toward college students!

We've partnered with the art students in Chicago, IL to help bring you Avant Edge Film Festival! Our annual event will take place at multiple venues, run longer, and screen feature and short films - the annual event showcases the films selected as winners of their submission category (among other selections).

The fifteenth High Falls Film Festival (HFFF), a five-day event celebrating the achievements of women in all aspects of filmmaking, will be held in November 2017 in Rochester, NY. Founded in 2001, the HFFF honors the artistry and innovation of women in film — behind the camera, in leading roles on the screen, and at the heart of storylines. Our focus on women in film is inspired by our city’s legacy as the birthplace of film (George Eastman) and the women’s rights movement (Susan B. Anthony), and the Festival is one of the longest running women’s film festivals in the U.S. Offerings will include an international slate of feature length independent films, both narrative and documentary, as well as four shorts programs, screened at the historic Little Theatre. The Festival experience will be enhanced by panels, workshops, talks with filmmakers, and opening and closing parties.

Taking place in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina, SCUFF is truly an international film festival as we are seeking films from all over the globe. The SCUFF will be two packed days of indie films where fans and filmmakers can meet and mingle and celebrate obscure and independent film.

Besides promoting and showcasing the best in truly independent cinema from all around the globe, the SCUFF also promotes local filmmaking in SC. We will shine a special spotlight on SC produced films and filmmakers. Filmmakers will have an opportunity to have their works screened for a captive audience while competing for awards in many categories.

From the novice to the professional, from the student to the experimental filmmaker, SCUFF is seeking all type of films that may not be able to find an audience in more mainstream film festivals.

Drama, comedy, horror, sci-fi, action, animation, music videos, fake trailers, puppet shows, claymation, documentary, LGBT, and so on. If you can create it, we want to see it. The more obscure the better!

Do you have to ask yourself if your film is too much for our festival? If so then we definitely want to see it! Does your film push social boundaries? Would Sundance or any mainstream festival laugh at you thinking you had a chance to get into their festival? Then we want your movie!

Q&A’s will follow screening with visiting filmmakers and actors. The festival will end on the second night with a big awards ceremony as we give out the SCUFF awards! Follow us on Facebook and we continue to make announcements until the festival arrives! Good luck and we can’t wait to see what you made!

The SCUFF wants to promote and nurture independent films and filmmakers. We want to expose to the world a whole new segment of cinema that they would never see anywhere else. Because of this our film festival is FREE to the public! We hope this will bring out lots of people to all the screenings and create a fun and festive environment for not only the attendees but also visiting filmmakers.

Welcome to Sick ’n’ Wrong, the only film festival that peels back the decaying flesh of conventional cinema, cracks open the bones underneath, digs down through the fat and gristle, and rips out the throbbing black heart of film art so everyone can bask in its terrible beauty.

At Sick ’n’ Wrong, we’re not (just) about unspeakable gore, and we’re not (only) into shockingly tasteless humor—we welcome the weird, the uncategorizable, the aggressively bizarre. If you’re an indie filmmaker, and your work makes the traditional festivals cringe, Sick ’n’ Wrong is probably your true home.

Sick ’n’ Wrong accepts films of all genres and form: horror, black comedy, animation, documentary—anything that makes us squirm! Every selected film screens at the festival, and winning filmmakers will receive custom 3-D printed “Sickies” in the following categories:

Best Movie
Best Story
Best Performance
Best Music
Best Special Effects
Funniest
Scariest
Audience Favorite

Plus two more in these Sick 'n' Wrong–specific categories:

Sickest—for the most viscerally gut-wrenching visuals
Wrongest—for the most horrifically inappropriate story content!

Sick 'n' Wrong takes place in the oppressively pleasant Orlando, Florida and held its inaugural event in 2016.
