The Melbourne International Cinema Extravaganza M.I.C.E. aims to be one of Melbourne's leading cinema extravaganza, raising awareness and celebrating these wonderful totem animals- Mice.

It will attract filmmakers from all around the world and celebrate their brilliant creations. With a strong focus on all the millions of life saving mice who sacrifice their lives to the research and study of terminal illnesses/cancer world wide.

It is a unique platform for new talent and a celebration of cinematic creativity, innovation and extravagance with artists new creations being judged right here in Melbourne City.

Films with a focus on terminal illness will be welcomed to help, educate, raise awareness, and bring hope to all the sufferers and families.
Art, Music and Film is a dynamic, healing way to help sufferers and their families as well as entertain all those who come along to this wonderful celebration.

A celebration that will engage, entertain, enlighten and bring together local and International films and give recognition to these wonderful, remarkable, brave little animals with a big, corageous heart.

“I came up with this film festival idea whilst at my screening of my first film in my trilogy, FATE-It is what it is! This was at the 2013 New York City Independent Film Festival, in Time Square. New York is filled with masses of people running in all directions- like mice! Very similar to Mice in cages of scientific research and health trials. These humans were like mice, all going somewhere, doing something and 95% of them chasing their own creation and creativity. And almost 50% having suffered or been scared with terminal illness at some point in their lives. I came back to Melbourne city and saw the same thing. We are all mice and these amazing totem animals of this festival have such a significance to our lives. They are life-saving!
I want this festival to begin to bring awareness just to how lucky we are to have mice in our life and celebrate their existence in a Melbourne International Cinema Extravaganza- MICE.
It was the beginnings of creating brilliance. Don't wait – Create! And we shall do just that with all the amazing courage of all of us working as a team of creative little mice, exhibiting dynamic, wonderful, International films and in turn celebrate the life-saving mice!”
R Lobosco.

Now in its 6th year, the AFF is open for submissions in the following categories: Feature, Short, Student and Teen. Cash prizes made possible by the Adam & Amber Tarshis Foundation, will be given in each category. The AFF prefers short films and may only select at the most two feature films. The AFF strives to screen films that explore any aspect of animal welfare, animal rights, the human/animal bond or programs demonstrating ways to improve the lives of animals. The films screened at the AFF inspire people to take action to save lives and end suffering.

During the AFF, speakers, filmmakers, awards and even the food, are intended to inspire film-goers to become active in improving the lives of animals who continue to face huge odds on so many fronts.

To ensure a balance of films that entertain as well as educate, the AFF also screens funny, warm-hearted and joyful films.

During the festival, kindness towards animals will be evident in the food and beverages served, and the products made available to audiences, filmmakers, and other participants.

Filmmakers whose films are featured in the festival will be our guests at a special event the night before the festival.

Turning nine in 2019, QWFF includes an annual multi day/multi venue festival, youth-oriented educational initiatives and year round screening opportunities for QWFF filmmakers, past and present. The festival is programmed in thematic blocks with evocative titles, and each program is followed by a post-screening dialogue to engage audiences from the demographically diverse communities that comprise the borough of Queens. Each year the festival has a very robust submission session, with films coming from all over the globe, 63 nations to date, including Cuba, Franc, Spain, Serbia, Korea, Bangladesh, China, Italy, the Ukraine, Iran, Scotland, Belgium, Finland and the UK to name just a few.

In every year’s festival there are tender films, heartbreaking films, and several works that are extremely provocative, maybe even, disturbing and the selections tie us into conversations people are having around the world via the real stars of the festival: THE FILMS. It’s about surrendering to the films, without looking for familiar names, titles, scores. It’s about creating the right context for personal, intimate films grouped together for a cinematic experience you will not get anywhere else on the planet.

The 9th Annual Queens World Film Festival returns to the Museum of the Moving Image in both the Redstone Theatre and the Bartos Screening Room as well as the historic Zukor Theatre at the Kaufman Astoria Studios located right next door for 11 days of exciting indie films - March 21 - 31, 2019. Strategically placed between the two venues is the fabled Astor Room with incredible food and special discounts just for QWFF participants and attendees. The festival village is located in the Astoria Arts District which is subway close and easy to find via foot or in your car (Yes, there is street and metered parking!)

Fostering global community through Earthminded film and art with clean energy and zero waste goals.

Our goal, first and foremost, is to honor the Earth in each step of the process. The Earth Day Film Festival uses only renewable energy to power screenings, partners with organizations with integrity, and facilitates grassroots screenings around the world that are free and open to the public. We connect passionate filmmakers with inspired audiences. We are merely amplifiers of your dynamic messages of global community, environmental action, and peace.

Films capture images and stories that have the capacity to inspire action. Art is a voice for social change and a potent way to convey ideas and experiences. Now more than ever, it is necessary to share global stories, with global audiences. Looking to create a global movement rather than a traditional film festival, The Earth Day Film Festival is open to the world: our curated films are screened in cities around the world on Earth Day. Find out how you can host your own screening at: www.earthdayfilmfest.org

The films and art we share reflect a diverse earthly experience. We support all filmmakers’ interpretations; give us your earthly vision however you see it.

The hands and hearts behind The Earth Day Film Festival are a group of artists, activists, optimists, and earth-loving souls. We have joined together to nourish this festival as our artistic contribution to the environmental movement. We are partnered with organizations such as Bioneers, The Biomimicry institute, and Arcadia Power.

We recognize that the work of creating a healthier planet will require a collaborative effort. To cultivate and activate our community, The Earth Day Film Festival hosts a 3-day film and art festival in Chico California, March 1-3 2019.

Awards & Prizes
The Earth Day Film Festival honors selected films with awards such as "Best Cinematography", "Best Editing" and "Best Sound". In addition, The Earth Day Film Festival has several unique, original awards:

"The Earth's Choice Award":
The winning film is made with the Earth in mind- from conception to final film. Consideration is given to energy usage, waste, and environmental impact. The final message is typically feminine in tone, not a direct way of speaking but one that is nurturing and loving as is Mother Earth. The recipient of this award is given temporary custody of the "Earth's Choice" custom trophy with their name engraved below previous recipient. The winner of this award receives an $888 cash award to propagate future Earth-minded work.

"The Activist Award":
This award honors filmmakers who are using their art to affect change in the world. The winning film illuminates unjust or repressive systems and calls for action. The filmmakers tactics, including their partnerships, methods and post-production journey are taken into consideration for this award.

"The New Paradigm Award":
The recipient of this award answers the question: 'what's next?'. After activism draws attention to areas in need of change, a new paradigm is needed to exemplify a more harmonious and healthier relationship with Earth. The selected film has a tone of nurturance and hope.

The Earth Day Film Festival is organized by filmmakers, who honor the effort required to give birth to a film. Selected filmmakers receive thoughtful gift bags from our sponsors and two VIP passes to the Festival.

As noted by SAG & Golden Globe Winner Matthew Modine, "New technologies have empowered and enabled creators outside of a studio or network system to make their own movies and develop cutting edge entertainment. Affordable cameras and editing software allow artists to create and express their skills for a multitude of new distribution platforms. We are presently witness to how storytelling is being redefined in the 21st Century. New Media Film Festival highlights and showcases what will come next." The festival extends its forward thinking to promote a positive future and proudly honors luminaries with its Socially Responsible Conservationist Award. In 2018 the award went to Jeff Bridges.

Judges at the New Media Film Festival include representatives from HBO, Marvel, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Television Academy, and other pioneers in the entertainment industry. There's even a competitive category for Sniplers, 30-second mini-trailers featured to garner attention for films not yet made. Filmmakers vie for a chance at $45,000 USD value in services and prizes. The festival also offers further screening opportunities to winning works on New Media 2D and 3D channels and other distribution opportunities.

The Northeastern Ohio International Film Festival isn't like the other Film Festivals. Our judges aren't looking for big name actors or directors. We are truly an independent film festival and our judge's rate and grade films on the merits of the films using an extensive proprietary grading system. Each judge will also provide notes and a short constructive critique of the film if requested.

The Third Annual NEO International Film Festival is being held again at Paolino's Pub. 2091 Locust Street S. Canal Fulton, OH 44614 on Monday, December 10th at 6PM.
