Robert Nelms has gained representation with manager A. Rahman Yoba of GhettoSuburbia Entertainment for his script 'Suing Santa'. Yoba is currently developing and producing the urban dramedy 'Khaki Blues' and an untitled dark comedy loosely based on the 1950 film 'Sunset'. Yoba was co-writer (with his brother, actor Malik Yoba: 'New York Undercover', 'Bull') of the critically acclaimed musical stage play 'What's on the Hearts of Men,' which was nominated in five categories at the 2003 NAACP/Hollywood Theatre Awards.

Director Rick Friedberg has optioned 'Go Get Carlos' by Mark Steinberg. It is 'Snatch' meets 'Run Lola Run'. Rick was a successful TV and feature director whose credits include 'Spy Hard' starring Leslie Nielsen, the TV series 'City Kids', 'The Twilight Zone' and others. Taking a break, Rick became a successful commercials director, having directed for Taco Bell, McDonalds, Mattel, Burger King, Toyota and a slew of others. Rick is now aggressively working on getting interest from independent producers and financiers and foreign distributors for 'Carlos,' while awaiting a rewrite in order to solicit interest from producers, actors and the studios for another script, which he found through us and was mentioned in a recent newsletter ('Lance Barnes: Post Nuke Dick' by Stefan Petrucha, based on Stefan's original comic book of the same name, and which has name talent attached). Mark Steinberg is a previously optioned writer, has been hired to write two other scripts and is repped by Mike Wise at Shapiro/Lichtman.

Tim Vandesteeg of Vandy Productions and writer Ken Moulin have reached a work-for-hire agreement where Ken is writing a script based upon a concept of Vandesteeg's. Tim produced and directed the feature film 'Mulligan' and has produced several specials for ABC, including 'The Making of The Music Man' which documents the TV production of the musical starring Matthew Broderick. Ken Moulin is a previously optioned writer and this is his first writing job.

Jim Clark of Miller-Clark Entertainment has optioned the script 'Goodnight Pigdog' by Adam Jones. Miller-Clark Entertainment is a partnership between Jim Clark (director) and Gretchen Miller (producer) to produce live-action filmed projects. Their first live-action short film 'A Chance Meeting' was completed late last year. Clark and Miller are partners in the animation company, Animationwerks, and currently have a children's television program with Warner Brothers, as well as two different animated feature films that have been optioned by another studio and are now in visual development. This marks the second script Adam has optioned through our network! Adam is in the midst of editing his first feature film 'Cross Eyed' from a script he wrote, co-produced, directed, and acted.

Last week I mentioned Brian Young being hired to do a rewrite on a script ('Zackary's Goal') he had optioned to Crescent Entertainment. This is correct and was finished a couple of months ago. However, Brian was also hired to do a re-write on a new different script for Crescent Entertainment. This is a co-production with Warner Bros Germany. A good number of credits for Harold Tichenor and Christine Haebler of Crescent Entertainment can be found on IMDB.com.

Michael Lonsdale of Untitled Films has optioned Chris Morgan's short script 'The Apartment'. Untitled Films is a multi-award winning film production company based in New Zealand. They currently have in development short and feature length films for release in 2004/2005. This is Chris' first year in writing and has two more feature scripts completed.

Rob Walker read one of Bernie Felix Jr.'s scripts and they have worked out an agreement for Bernie to write the script currently titled 'On borrowed time'. Walker's directing credits include the theatrically released 'Circus'. He is in post-production on two features - 'Mayhem!' and 'Border Bullet'. Walker is an accomplished TV, feature and stage director in the UK and moved to the US to produce films.

Cathryn has been in management/production for 20 years and has helped to establish the careers of Quentin Tarantino (10 years), Mark Dacascos and Anton Diether. Cathryn has produced 'Drive', 'Boogie Boy' with Academy award winner Roger Avery and 'Stanley's Gig.'

Martin Brennan of Heaven's Gate Films has optioned Benedict Fancy's screenplay short 'Donor'. Brennan spent a few years working as an assistant director on various feature films, shorts and commercials in Ireland - Joel Schumacher's 'Veronica Guerin', and John Irvin's 'The Boys from County Clare' etc. He is moving over to directing his own films.

Bill Straus (Billygoat Productions), Dave Alpert (Circle of Confusion), and Christina Jenkins (Shaftesbury) have entered into a co-production agreement to produce Rob and Rita Sandoval's 'City Hawk'. Rob and Rita are doing well; they have another script with Taye Diggs attached to play the lead (not through InkTip). Straus was a creative exec for several years on a number of films and moved out on his own. He is producing 'The Man' at New Line Cinema with Rob Fried. Circle of Confusion (a management/production company) represents the Warchowski Brothers, Chabot/Paterka (Reign of Fire) and Simon Kindberg (Charlie's Angels 2), among others. They have a deal with Sony Pictures and have a number of projects in development with the studios. Shaftebury has a lengthy list of TV credits (MOWs and series) including, 'The Atwood Stories', 'Screech owls', 'Criminal Instincts: Love and Murder' and 'Hemingway vs. Callaghan'. Rob and Rita are represented by Jeff Alpern of Alpern Group.

Jeff Johnsen of Razorboy Productions found the script 'Probed' by writer Jamie Nash through our network. Together with Eduardo Sanchez of Haxan Films, they are working with Nash to further develop and produce it. Eduardo Sanchez co-wrote and co-directed 'The Blair Witch Project'. Johnsen also worked on 'The Blair Witch Project' and is slated to direct the feature film, 'Fool's Goal' by Kraig X Wenman. This year alone Jamie Nash has optioned three scripts and looks to be optioning two more before the year is out.

James Dalrymple of Altius Films has acquired the rights to Sue Berg's screenplay short, 'Private Caller'. He plans to produce this in the very near future. Dalrymple has been producing/directing/editing commercials in Los Angeles for a number of years. He is currently co-producing (not through our network) with Whitelight Motion Pictures a full-length feature titled 'The Mourning Dove', based on the book of the same name by author Larry Barkdull. David Ranes wrote the screenplay. Shooting begins in approximately 6 weeks.

Through our network, Julio Ponce Palmieri signed a work-for-hire contract with TJ Mancini of Crossroads Production & Management. Palmieri has been hired by Mancini to adapt a screenplay based upon a novel about Simon Bolivar. In addition, Mancini has two other scripts by Palmieri, to which he is currently working on attaching name actors. Some of Mancini's credits include: 'Shadow of a Doubt' starring Melanie Griffith and Tom Berenger, 'Strays' starring Vin Deisel, and 'Downtown: A Street Tale' starring Genevieve Bujold. In addition to his work with Mancini, Palmieri has a feature in development with another production company (not as a result of InkTip.com's exposure). So far two of Palmieri's shorts have been produced. Miklos Philips of Point Zero Pictures acquired the short script 'Riding With Jack' from Julio through our network. It has been produced; Ponce has received a copy of it and is very pleased with the way it turned out. 'Riding With Jack' is now being submitted to festivals, including Sundance.

Update: In addition to the other project mentioned below, James Quattrochi of 2nd Generation Films optioned the script 'When the Dead Whisper' by Kraig X Wenman. This project has been gaining momentum. A Happy Place and Gold Circle Films are attached to produce. This project is currently in development and Wenman recently sent in his second draft for approval. A Happy Place Productions produced 'On the Line', starring Lance Bass and Joey Fatone. Credits for Gold Circle Films include the record breaking 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' and 'The Man From Elysian Fields', starring Andy Garcia, Mick Jagger and Julianna Margulies. Quattrochi's directing credits include: 'True Friends' and 'Full Circle'. He is the producer and director of the recently completed film, 'Jesus, Mary and Joey' (starring Vincent Pagano, Marley Shelton, Jennifer Esposito, Olympia Dukakis, Jason Gedrick, Stacy Keach, Tess Harper and Charles Durning). James is slated to direct. Agent Deborah Harry of Deborah Harry Talent represented Wenman in this deal.

Arnold Leibovit Entertainment has optioned three scripts (BIG WOMEN 1, BIG WOMEN 2:Three Fat Sisters and a Baby Lost in New York and BIG WOMEN 3:Tres Hermanas de Grasa Y El Templo de Sentencia (Three Fat Sisters and the Temple of Doom), from scribe Deborah Maxwell. Liebovit was an Executive Producer for 'The Time Machine' starring Guy Pearce, which was released broadly in theatres in 2002. More details and credits can be seen on IMDB.com. These scripts were found through our network, but it was because of the Words From Here screenplay competition and their desire to get the winning writers as much exposure as possible. They made an arrangement with InkTip.com to get their winning writers and extra push.

Nancy Stein of American Girl Productions has optioned the script 'Deborah Samson' by John Walker Bellingham. Stein's award-winning short film 'Stealing Innocence' was recently acquired by Simmons Lathen Media Group. Now she is working hot and heavy on this project. The 'Deborah Samson' script was found through our network, but it was because of the Women in Film and Video New England Screenplay Competition and their desire to get the winning writers as much exposure as possible. They made an arrangement with InkTip.com for that extra push.

As we have mentioned before, manager Brooklyn Weaver of Energy Entertainment scouted scribe John Sullivan through us. Weaver then helped Sullivan get 275K against 575K (Variety, 2-12-02), for his script 'Rapid' with Columbia Pictures. It was followed by a 3-project deal with Dimension Films/Miramax. What I didn't know is that Sullivan has already written two of the scripts in this deal with Dimension Films.

Ranko Markovich of Templar Productions optioned the script 'In Silence I Perish' by Nicholas Turner (based on the life and death of the composer Peter Tchaikovsky). Principals for Templar Productions include Ranko Markovic and Jeff Purser. Purser recently produced the feature 'Fat Pizza', which did quite well in Australia. Village Roadshow Australia has picked it up for international distribution.

Norm Sanders, Executive Producer with Envision Entertainment, has optioned the script 'Cracked' by Adam Lamas. Lamas will be directing and this script is currently out to name talent. Lamas' first feature film debuted at Slamdance Film Festival and enjoyed a long and critically successful life on the film circuit. The New York Times considered it one of the best of the festival and called it '...a gem...' Lamas also earned comparisons to Kurasawa and Bergman by critics at the Boston Phoenix, The Holland Sentinel and Atlanta's Creative Loafing.

Dan Riley and Peter J Clark of Port Magee Pictures have signed an exclusive agreement to pitch the novel 'My Fractured Life,' by Rikki Lee Travolta (published in 2002 by Infinity Publishing). The novel has received 5-star reviews at Amazon.com and the Barnes & Noble website. Travolta is an internationally published journalist for media giants Cahners, Miller-Freeman, CMP, and JIMI. His writings for the stage include 'King for a Day', 'Aladdin', and 'G-Girls.' Travolta's manager, Drake Miezel of Prime Time Entertainment, brokered the deal. Producer credits for Riley include the following TV series: 'EX-treme Dating', 'Santiara' and 'The Fifth Wheel'. Clark is a respected script supervisor and also co-produced the TV series 'Santiara'. Cosgrove-Meurer Productions has entered an agreement whereby they will be pitching an untitled reality series based upon an idea by Richard Blade Sheppard. Cosgrove-Meurer Productions are the producers of 'Unsolved Mysteries' (starring Robert Stack) and numerous other TV movies, which can be found on IMDB.com under John Cosgrove and Terry Meurer. Richard Blade Sheppard has sold two screenplays (features) in the past, 'Hostage' and 'We're With The Band'. He wrote for the Paramount/UPN series '7 Days' including the second season finale 'The Cure'. Blade recently sold a series to E! called 'You're In The MoviE!' - a reality series - and partnered with Foglight Entertainment on that. Additionally, he has been hired by Viacom/VH1 to write and produce a series called 'Bands Reunited'. This is currently in production. The deal was repped by attorney John Moonves.

Alan R. Green of The Entertainment Alliance Inc. signed an exclusive pitch agreement (to shop, and if greenlit, produce) for the script 'The Prisoners' by Craig Philips. From 1983 through 1987, Alan Green was contracted to write and produce TV movies and miniseries through Orion Pictures. In the early 90s, he worked for Hollywood-Continental Films as Head of Development and Production. In 1994, he formed The Entertainment Alliance, Inc. with Tim Van Rellim. Traktor Film has optioned the script 'White Girls' by Kenneth Waddell. Based in Hollywood, Traktor Film is a group of Swedish filmmakers who only produce and direct as Traktor - never as individuals. 'Chain of Fools' is their feature film debut. It starred, among others, Salma Hayek, Steve Zahn, Jeff Goldblum, Elijah Wood, and Lara Flynn Boyle. The writing team of Michael Steven Gregory and Anna Gilson has optioned their script 'Valentine Carol' to Craig Nichols of Pendle View LLC. In addition, Nichols has taken with this writing duo on for writing another untitled project. This is the third (fourth counting the untitled project) script Gregory has optioned where Inktip.com had a hand, not to mention his gaining representation with Brian Overland of Overland management. One of the other scripts optioned was 'Long Came Charlie', which was picked up by actor Dustin Hoffman's production company, Punch Productions (Tootsie, Mad City, Wag the Dog, The Devil's Arithmetic, Walk on the Moon). Gregory has been a staff writer on four series, including 'Spiderman-Unlimited' and 'The Silver Surfer'.

Established in October 2001, Pendle View is headed by former Blue Rider Pictures' Director of Development & Production Craig Nicholls. Global Screen Partners fell in love with the script 'Statute of Limitations' by Mylo Carbia and loved her writing so much that she was signed to a three-picture deal. This was mentioned on YAHOO! Canadian screenwriter Christopher R. Bruce has optioned his original feature film script 'Stalled' to Director/Producer Jon Einarsson Gustafsson of The Great Canadian Film Factory Inc. Kevin Rapp of Groundbreaking Films is collaborating on a drama screenplay with writer Scott Lipanovich. Rapp found Lipanovich on our website and recently produced, directed and wrote 'Reflex Action,' released on video last year and distributed internationally. Lipanovich is also co-developing a story for a family drama titled 'Wish I Were here' for Davis Entertainment Filmworks.

Miller-Clark Entertainment optioned the script 'Tango King' by Kal Wagenheim. Miller-Clark Entertainment is a partnership between Jim Clark (director) and Gretchen Miller (producer) to produce live-action filmed projects. Their first live-action short film 'A Chance Meeting' was completed late last year. 'Tango King' will be their first feature length film, with Clark set to direct and Miller to produce. Additionally, Clark and Miller are partners in the animation company, Animationwerks, and currently have a children's television program with Warner Brothers, as well as two different animated feature films that have been optioned by another studio and are now in visual development. Wagenheim has had several books published over the years, including biographies of Roberto Clemente & Babe Ruth, and two plays produced off-off-Broadway.

Jay Alaimo and Matthew Fiorello of Mercer Filmed Entertainment have optioned the script, 'The Outlaws', written by Timothy Williams. Jay Alaimo produced the feature film 'Oscar' and three award winning shorts: 'Tide' (IFC), 'Pretzel' (starring Sam Rockwell) and 'Star Trash'. He has also produced music videos and commercials, as well as two documentaries for PBS. In March, Mercer Films established a production finance relationship with Montage Media Capital Group, headed by former Working Title CFO, Graham Bradstreet. Mercer Films and Montage Media Capital are financing and producing Andy Lauer's (Brillstein Grey) 'Little Cuba', a $10 million feature. Timothy Williams, the author of 'The Outlaws', has had several screenplays optioned and is a veteran TV series writer.

Through our network, Norm Sanders has hooked up with director Lance Tracy to produce Sharon Steinhauser's script 'Split'. Partial financing has been set up and they are looking to begin shooting during the summer. Sanders is Exec Producing. Tracy and Sanders are in talks with a third producer to get onto the team. Tracy directs 2-3 movies a year for KNN Productions and is looking to expand this.

Funnagan has been a talent manager in LA for the last 13 years and acquired this script for Australian TV bombshell Bronwyn Jones.
